WPCG

In July 2005, Elizabeth Kubala and Selwyn Polit designed the space for the Windsor Park Community Gardens using Permaculture Principles.

We planted about 20 fruit trees, built a shed, an arbor, groups (pods) of raised beds for rental and implemented a buried irrigation system. We have a small but thriving community of gardeners and supporters. The gardens are located behind the Mennonite church in East Austin at 5801 Westminster Drive. The land is approximately 1 acre in size (about 200 feet by 200 feet) so we have plenty of room for you to come play. We'd love to have more art and more gardeners.

4-20-2009: Nicole emailed to say that our project is on the home page of the Open Architecture Network website. I didn't realize what a big deal it was until Mohan pointed out that the other seven projects on the home page are from all over the WORLD. What an honor. Congratulations to Nicole.
