Fruit Tree Planting, Pruning and Care

Join Yard to Market Co-op as we welcome fruit tree guru Zach Halfin to teach us all about these edible gems of the landscape. He will cover best planting techniques, including site selection and variety selection. He will also cover the pruning of trees for optimal production and some pest control techniques as well.

Zach is a lifetime gardener. He went to Texas State for Horticulture and was a founder of the universities Bobcat Blend composting site. Since finishing at Texas state he has worked in landscaping and tree care industry. He has earned his ISA arborist certification and his TNLA professional landscaper and nurseryman certification. In his own garden, he propagates trees in his nursery and grows a 2/3 acre fruit and vegetable garden.

This is a hands-on class open to co-op member owners as well as the general public. If you currently have fruit trees that you would like to learn more about, or are thinking of adding some to your edible landscape, this is a great opportunity to learn more to get the most out of your investment.
