ABOUT THE COURSE

Taught by internationally experienced and recognized permaculture educator, Theron Beaudreau, this 72 hour Permaculture Design Course will be held at the home of Creation Flame in Cedar Creek, Texas just 15 minutes from Austin.

The course will cover every major topic in Bill Mollison's "Permaculture: a Designers Manual" and will also be packed full of rich, practical examples of permaculture design through Theron's direct experience learning from permaculture professionals, biologists and community organizers from around the world!

Many other topics will be explored as well and students are encouraged to share and exchange any relevant knowledge and skills they have. The course is designed to be interactive and inspirational to provide the best possible learning experience for all level of students.

COURSE COST
This Permaculture Design Course runs over a jam packed two weeks from April 27th - May 12th, 2013. To receive a Permaculture Design Certificate (PDC), participants are required to attend all two weeks of exciting hands-on and classroom learning. This $145 deposit reserves your place in the April 27th PDC. Remaining course costs of $580 are due upon the first day of the course ($725 Total).

SCHEDULE
Your experience will begin Saturday morning at 7:30am on the 27th of April. Each day starts with a light breakfast followed by an hour of hands on farm experience starting at 8am (learn how to care for chickens, milk pigmy goats, and take part in the community experience). From 9 to 9:30am there is a short review of the previous days' lessons and at 9:30am the first session begins. Each day there are a total of four 1.5 hour sessions separated by a 30 minute break and a 1.5 hour lunch. Lunch break starts at 1pm and runs until 2:30 for the start of the afternoon sessions. The day ends at 6pm and is followed by an occasional, and optional, evening session from 7:30 to 9pm. Saturday, May 4th and 5th are days off... even if you are too excited to stop, you'll have to direct the energy toward your own garden!

ACCOMMODATIONS
The course will be hosted at Awesome Hollow in Cedar Creek, home of the amazing Creation Flame. In 2011 Creation Flame was the first to successfully replicate an open source Compressed Earth Brick machine designed by the Open Source Ecology project. This bourgeoning permaculture site is an ideal space to discover new knowledge and skills in permaculture design.

A light breakfast and lunch is provided. The cost of this service has been factored into the price of the course although donations (local food, praise, kindness and tips) are encouraged, appreciated and help to insure the highest quality of food options.

Limited camping is available for the cost of $10 additional per night. Please notify us in advance or through the registration form if you intend to camp to insure that space is available.

ABOUT THE FACILITATOR

Theron Beaudreau: An international educator and consultant with many years of permaculture design and project management experience, Theron is an engaging teacher and inspiring mentor. He empowers his students to teach each other through thoughtful facilitation and creative activities. Theron's commitment to creating a better world comes across in every lesson, encouraging others to follow their unique path.

In 2010, Theron founded Community Cultivators, a grassroots organization helping individuals realize the potential of community through the cultivation of mind, body and soil. In 2011, Theron interned with Geoff Lawton of the Permaculture Research Institute of Australia and later was a founding manager of Rak Tamachat Permaculture, a permaculture education and training centre located in rural Thailand. Theron is now working on developing systems for higher level permaculture education and regenerative earth sciences through Eco-Pioneers.org
